Hello Everybody,
As you know there will be a bar section in Mayfair Apartments. However I will not make it up and running until beginning of next season. There are several reasons for that. Finding a proper staff in the middle of a season, getting permission on time, contracting the suppliers to get deals and freebies (like fridge).
I know some of you will get disappointed, some of you will complain and argue that they do not feel like paying last installment or maintenance because complex is not finished completely, or would ask indemnity penalty based on the agreement because the bar is not open. For clarification, Bar section is not included in the maintenance fee. It is supposed to cover it self by the profit it makes.
I just would like to point out that if I was going by the contract all the time, I should have cancelled many peoples agreements and charge them a penalty fee. So far, I have used contract as a guideline and was flexible on it. That is at least how we do it in Turkey. However, if people are keen on following the contract by the book, then I will do so as well with results of canceling agreements due to non paying.
We will be seeing each other for quite years, as I already do with Cornellians. I cant know exactly how they feel about me, but I guess they dont have much to complain about me. Things might go slow sometimes, but remember we are dealing with massive workload at the moment.
Regards, Bulent Bektas

I take it you are including Mayfair 1 in that. I am happy to wait. If worst comes to worst and I am thirsty, I could always bring a few bottles back to the apartment with my shopping. The bar (when open) is just an added convenience. And I am surprised that people would think completion of it as part of their contract. I dont know what other people's contracts are like, but there is certainly no mention of a bar in mine!

Hello All. I totally agree with you Frances, the bars an added bonus to the already wonderful apartments. We always bring our own drinks with us with our shopping so we can sit on our balcony and enjoy a drink or 2,perhaps with neighbours or by ourselves. The bar will be an extra,if it has Sky T.V it would be nice but not essential. I think we all got a good deal buying into the complex,so i would not expect any compensation. Thats our view hope to see some of you at the weekend.

Also totally agree with everybody.. The apartments are wonderful, and the buying process was just so easy. The bar, wifi, will be great but just a added extra, when we brought, off plan, almost two years ago, I don't even remember talk of a bar! We always have the odd beer and etc in the fridge (Eh Bulent). Just like to thank Bulent, Baris, Sorayma, Barbarus etc, for all their efforts and hardwork over the last months. See you next week (Can't wait !) Wendy and Steven M2 D7

Hi Bulent,
We agree. Next year is fine with us also. I think most of us realise that the building project was tight to finish in the time scales involved. I think it will effect Sean & Sue the most out of us all though as they live on the complex.
I take it that the children's playground will be the same also ?
PS We did not bring the sunshine home with us - rain, clouds and more rain.

Hi,
We are also ok about the bar / cafe opening next year, it just would have been nice personally for me & Sue if it was going to be open, as Gill pointed out we live on the complex permanently (all year round), and it would have been nice to sit in there in the winter months, sup a beer, and watch some live football on Sky, but i'm sure we can manage without it if this is to be the case.
However, this wouldn't be so much of an issue if broadband was available at the complex though.
Don't mean to sound like we are moaning all the time, but we were told this would be available end of June, then end of July, now it's end of August, and still no sign of it.
As I say, might not be so much of an issue for most people, but as we live here all the time, it is quite important for us, as it is pretty much our only link / communication with the outside world. Yes, I do visit Internet Cafes (obviously, as that's why I am able to leave this message here today), but it would be ideal to have internet available on the complex one day !!!

Hello Sean & Sue, I was talking to a resident last year he was saying that you can have a aerial fitted to receive a wireless connection from one of the electronic shops in Didim, maybe that would be a short term fix for you till the phone company get down to Mayfair with the connection .... I would not hold your breath with the phone company I don’t think they are the most reliable. Andy

I would like to point out some things following the posts above.
Bar section will be opened seasonal.. If there is enough demand on the winter time, it can be opened on winter time as well.
For internet connection, complex feature does not come with a internet feature built in. What I said was I try to get internet on complex and people can use it. However I havent managed to get it on the complex yet with the fact that I am moving there within few weeks. If anyone wants internet to their own apartment, they can always go to telekom and apply for it.

Hi Bulent
In your post you said we can apply for Internet at telekom surely you have to have a telephone line and you have always led us to believe that you cannot have a Telephone unless you are a resident. has that now changed?

This is still the same.
Anybody can apply for a residency permit though.
- Go to Aydin police station visa department - Bring 4 passport pictures, an passport copies (must be valid 6 month or longer) - Fill out the form - Pay the fee for your permit at Aydin tax office (price depends on the period of visa) - Go back to police station with your receipt - Come back 6-7 days later to pick up your residency permit
You than can apply for telephone, ADSL or any other subscribed service
