Linda & Alan took an excursion to the lovely town of Sirince, and came back with nice stories and pictures.

As Sirince is a place you should all go and visit if you are in the area of Kusadasi, underneath a little description and Linda & Alan's pictures.

********************************
Sirince (Si-rin-je) is a wonderful little village with about 600 inhabitants. The village is set on a hill side and has a great climate. Most of the houses in Sirince were build somewhere in the 19th century or earlier when this village was predominantly Greek.

The houses in Sirince can be modernised but because they are considered to be of big historical value, renovation has to apply with a long list of regulations and rules.

The hills around Sirince are filled with peach orchards, vineyards and olive groves. And the surroundings are excellent for idyllic country walks, painting or just pure enjoyment of sitting around doing absolutely nothing.

The village's origin is farming and unfortunately due to strong tourism in recent years, it now also thrives on a lot of souvenir shops, restaurants and some 'antik' guesthouses. However, farming is still the main source for Sirince. The villagers make wine and olive oil, and grow awsome peaches You will find that the people in Sirince, as most Turkish villagers will greet strangers with a smile and of course will invite you to have some Turkish tea with them.

Sirince is a lovely place to visit and a trip to Sirince can be combined with a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, which is only a few kilometers away.
So...spend a day in Ephesus, than head out to Sirince and spend the night in one of the romantic 'antik' guesthouses and enjoy all this beautiful village has to offer.
