A new policy from
Travel4holidayhomes will cover the costs of an emergency flight to deal with problems arising from their second home.
This insurance includes factors such as fire and flood, with forest fires, flash floods and hurricanes becoming more commonplace. Cover is also provided for aspects like water damage caused by leaking and faulty appliances. It even covers damage from vandalism.
The annual policy costs just £59 (plus Insurance Premium Tax of 17.5%) and provides £1,000 of cover for last minute flights, £250 for accommodation and a miscellaneous reimbursement limit of £100 for out of pocket expenses such as taxi fares, telephone calls and airport parking charges. Two people can make emergency travel plans with the cover provided, within the policy limits.
The firm's spokesperson, Larry Ursich, said: "This policy is a useful safeguard for any overseas property owner and its highly economical cost should make it part and parcel of any budget set aside for an overseas home and its upkeep. It is already proving very popular with overseas homeowners who recognise the value it represents and the benefit it provides for those who need to travel to their property without delay."
The policy is available for UK residents who have a second home anywhere in the world and can be bought online at the website of
