New Airport plans

DIDIM Mayor Mümin Kamac? has called for an airport plan, on the cards for 20 years, to be brought to life – rather than petition for an aiport road from Bodrum to Didim.

Mr Kamac? said that proposals for an airport to be built in Söke would benefit Söke, Didim and Ku?adas? primarily and also Ayd?n.

Kamac? said that rather than the Bodrum – Kaz?kl? airport road, people should concentrate on building the airport planned for Söke.

Kamac? expressed that there was a plan to build an airport in the lower part of Söke: “If an airport is built there, it will be 45 minutes from here at the most. This airport would benefit both Söke, Ku?adas? and Didim.”

He added that it would further enhance the capacity of the hotels in the resort. The 5-star hotels in the resort are aready 100% full.

He said Didim was having a very good tourism season: “All the 5-star hotels in our resort are 100% full at present. This is very gratifying. Yet, we are not content. We believe Didim needs three or four more 5-star hotels.”
